Like blood pressure in humans, static pressure impacts HVAC systems, positively or negatively, depending on what that pressure is. We all know that high or low pressure is bad for human health. The same is true when it comes to building static pressure as well.
Taking a building’s static pressure lets you “see” the HVAC system in a new light. It actually makes airflow “visible.” It tells you what is causing problems and can even suggest what must be done to improve the health of the HVAC system.
In other words, it unlocks the door to the system as a whole.
The key is knowing how to take static pressure measurements, where to take them, and then know how to interpret the readings you get. Frankly, there can be a lot to all this, but let’s keep things really simple. We’ll stick to the basics and take a look at how to measure static pressure in six easy steps.
Frankly, it should typically take service technicians less than five minutes to measure a residential systems’s static pressure.
So what are those six steps? Just click this link and read the entire article.
